19th-Century Dutch Schooner Discovered on the Floor of the Gulf of FinlandA Russian diving expedition has discovered and identified the wreck of a 19th-century Dutch schooner resting on the seabed of the Gulf of Finland near Seskar Island.

The schooner was found by chance while the expedition was searching for Soviet torpedo boats, expedition leader Konstantin Bogdanov said.
The ship was identified by its bell as the two-masted Dutch schooner Concurrent.
Researchers explained that the Gulf of Finland provides unusually favorable conditions for preserving wood.
