The District 20 champion Ottawa 10-Year-Old All-Stars had their Little League tournament season ended Wednesday after splitting a pair of games at the Illinois State Tournament in Roseland. The Ottawa 10s opened Wednesday with a 13-1, four-inning win against Rochelle, scoring 11 runs over the opening two innings with an attack spearheaded by two hits apiece off the bats of Ben Dralle (two RBIs), Miles Jenkins (one RBI), Weston Donahue (one RBI) and Cruz Harth (one RBI), one of Jenkins’s hits a triple. Nolan Sipula (2 IP, 0 R, 3 K), Donahue (0.2 IP, 1 ER, 1 K) and Knox Fox (1.1 IP, 0 R, 1 K) combined on a four-inning no-hitter. Ottawa then lost 4-3 to Olney to finish the tournament 2-2, tying the game with two runs in the top of the sixth inning but giving up a walk-off run in the bottom half. Eli Mundt (3 IP, 3 ER, 5 K) and Jace Lacke (2.2 IP, 0 ER, 4 K) pitched for Ottawa, while Garrett Hall provided the locals’ lone hit, a single.
