A Lake Villa man has been charged in connection with possessing dozens of images and videos of child sexual abuse, police said. Lake County Sheriff’s cybercrime detectives initiated an investigation after they became aware child sexual abuse images were being shared from an electronic device in unincorporated Lake Villa, according to a news release. Detectives learned the device was located at a home on North Rustic Drive, unincorporated Lake Villa. After obtaining a search warrant, sheriff’s detectives, along with Electronic Detection Canine Enzo, searched for electronics that were storing child sexual abuse material. Phillips has been charged with seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, Class 2 felonies.
