Two children were rescued from the Schuylkill River in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, after being found neck-deep in the water. an officer spotted two school-aged children in the river and called Montgomery County Police and Fire Radio for assistance. Bridgeport, Upper Merion and Norristown fire departments then responded to the scene with two swift water rescue squads and multiple swift water rescue technicians. Crews were able to rescue the children near the SEPTA Norristown High Speed Line trestle, according to police. In a message, Bridgeport Police also reminded residents that the Schuylkill River can become dangerous after moderate-to-heavy upstream rainfall, which can create fast-moving currents.
