A New Milton pensioner is to stand trial after denying 11 historical sex assault allegations. Ronald Lockyer (82), of Garden Close, is charged with 11 sexual offences dating back to the 1970s and ’80s. He appeared at Southampton Crown Court on Monday when pleaded not guilty to all 11. Lockyer appeared at Southampton Crown CourtThe alleged offences include attempted rape of a female aged 16 or over between November 1981 and November 1983; indecent assault of a girl under 16 between November 1977 and November 1980; and nine charges of indecent assault of a girl under 14 between January 1976 and November 1977, and between November 1977 and November 1980. Lockyer’s trial at the court will start on 28th June next year.
