Powys County Council has become an accredited Real Living Wage employer.
The Real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate calculated based on the actual cost of living, and the council’s new accreditation demonstrates its commitment to fair employment and social responsibility.
"Paying the Real Living Wage helps our staff live with dignity, security and confidence.
Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, Adam Price, said: "Congratulations to Powys for becoming the sixth Real Living Wage local authority in Wales.
"I hope other local authorities in Wales will join Powys and the others to become Real Living Wage employers."
