Yucatán registered a 2.1% growth in overall economic activity during the first quarter of 2026, ranking 7th nationwide, according to figures from the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE) released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The indicator measures economic development across 32 federal entities in primary (agriculture and extraction), secondary (industrial manufacturing and construction), and tertiary (services and trade) sectors. In the secondary sector, which encompasses industrial activity, mining, construction, and manufacturing, Yucatán posted an 1.8% increase. This expansion placed the state 9th among Mexico’s 32 states for industrial growth during the January–March period. Meanwhile, the tertiary sector, comprising trade and services, maintained steady economic performance compared to the first quarter of 2025.
