The fire started at RSPB Minsmere at 5.30pm on Wednesday, July 29 at Dunwich Heath. Adam Rowlands, RSPB area manager, said: "Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with a significant fire at RSPB Minsmere which began late on Wednesday afternoon in the area close to Dunwich Heath. Residents in the local area are also being advised to keep windows and doors closed where possible. Christopher May, incident commander for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, updated the public on social media on the seriousness of the blaze at Dunwich Heath, which started at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
