A 49-year-old Traverse City man was arrested after shooting a weapon in his apartment last night, prompting a mass police response to the area near the M-72/M-22 roundabout by Tom's West Bay. TC Police Department officers were dispatched to the apartment complex in the 10000 block of East Traverse Highway after a tenant heard gunshots coming from another apartment. Once on scene, officers could hear gunshots and see rounds being shot from an upstairs apartment. The suspect continued firing rounds from his apartment while officers were on scene. The Traverse City Police Department was assisted by the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Grand Traverse Tribal Police, Traverse City Fire Department, MMR, Grand Traverse County Central Dispatch, and Grand Traverse County Emergency Management.
