Animal “rescue” scams are reportedly thriving, with perpetrators using sick and injured animals to dupe kind-hearted individuals into sending money. It is critical to demand action against scammers who tarnish the reputation of genuine animal rescue efforts. PETITION LETTER:Dear Directorate of Animal Resources,The existence of fraudulent animal “rescue” schemes plaguing social media platforms is a serious concern that requires immediate attention. Allegations of scammers exploiting sad and graphic images of suffering animals to solicit funds from compassionate individuals have surfaced. Therefore, this petition demands that immediate steps be taken to investigate these animal rescue scams, hold those involved accountable, and implement necessary measures to protect animals in Uganda from similar exploitation.
