Morocco’s central bank, Bank Al-Maghrib, has issued a MAD 250 silver commemorative coin marking the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne, the central bank said on Wednesday. The front of the coin features a portrait of King Mohammed VI, with inscriptions in Arabic and Tifinagh reading “Mohammed VI” and “Kingdom of Morocco,” as well as the year 2026 (1448 Hijri). The reverse features stylized fireworks, Morocco’s coat of arms, the face value of 250 dirhams, and the number 27, commemorating the anniversary year. It also bears inscriptions in Arabic and French marking the occasion. The commemorative coin is struck in 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, weighs 28.28 grams, and has a diameter of 38.61 millimeters with a finely grooved edge and a polished collector-quality finish, according to Bank Al-Maghrib.
