Colony of blue by the wind sailors drift ashore at St Bees

These striking blue creatures, known as by-the-wind-sailors, have appeared along St Bees beach, surprising visitors with their jellyfish-like appearance.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust said: "They're called by-the-wind-sailors and, as the romantic name suggests, they spend their lives drifting on the wind.
