The government will be pumping the sector with £8.4bn of funding, £5.9bn of which is to go to BAE and to its operations in Barrow. Burnham and his new Defence Secretary Wes Streeting had been taken on a tour around nuclear submarine building operations alongside Barrow and Furness MP Michelle Scrogham.
