Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening troop welfare through strategic partnerships with the private sector. He noted that GTBank’s strength in digital banking would help improve financial service delivery and support the Army’s operational readiness. As part of the Nigerian Army’s Soldier First welfare initiative, the COAS urged the bank to expand its corporate social responsibility programmes to support wounded soldiers, widows and orphans of fallen personnel. Earlier, GTBank Executive Director Ahmed Liman commended the Nigerian Army for its role in defending the country’s territorial integrity and protecting lives and property. The visit underscored the Army’s drive to deepen collaboration with key private sector partners in support of personnel welfare and operational effectiveness.
