What is parental allowance?
Parental allowance (rodičovský příspěvek) isn't a monthly payment; it's a total pot of money a family draws down over time while one parent stays home to care for a child under three or four.
Parents choose their own monthly amount based on prior earnings, so a higher monthly draw means the money runs out sooner, while a lower amount stretches it out longer.
Either parent can claim it, and working while receiving it is allowed as long as someone else looks after the child during that time.
