A loud motorcycle led to several charges against its rider in Hanover Sunday. Hanover Police said officers heard the noisy bike from inside their police station at around 5 p.m. on July 26 and quickly responded, boxing in traffic to prevent the rider from fleeing at the intersection of 10th Street and 7th Avenue. While Hanover Police dealt with the operator of the motorcycle, an off-duty OPP officer pulled up on scene and reported the motorcycle operator driving at high speeds, aggressively passing motorists, and other dangerous maneuvers as it travelled eastbound into Hanover. He was later released from custody with a court date in Walkerton, and the motorcycle was seized on a 45-day impound. “This traffic stop and subsequent arrest is a good example of the work officers are performing with Project Noisemaker as they focus on making our community quieter and our streets safer,” Hanover Police Chief Chris Knoll said in a media release.
