In preparation for the 2026/2027 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League season, the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners have announced they will play six exhibition contests, three which will be played on home ice and six on the road. The pre-season will start with the Miners hosting the Iroquois Falls Storm at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex on August 28. On September 4, the Gold Miners will host Powassan with a start time of 7 pm. They then finish the exhibition season in Timmins on September 6. The Gold Miners open the regular season September 12 on the road when the play French River in Noelville.
