WHEELER COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Wheeler County K-12 School reopened Thursday afternoon after an anonymous bomb threat prompted an evacuation earlier in the day.
According to a statement from Wheeler County Schools, the district received an anonymous bomb threat Thursday morning.
The school district worked with the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office, the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to investigate the threat.
The investigation into the source of the anonymous threat is ongoing.
