This autumn, the BTS musician will present the first museum exhibition drawn from his personal collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). Curated by RM alongside SFMOMA curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim, the exhibition reflects the musician’s long-standing engagement with visual art. Many of the Korean works will be shown publicly in the United States for the first time. “This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal. SFMOMA invited RM to develop the project after recognising the depth and thoughtfulness of his collection, which has grown into one of the most closely followed private collections of Korean modern art.
