Siemens Mobility has been awarded a set of three major contracts for the modernisation of railway signalling and interlocking systems in Romania. Leading a consortium formed together with ELSITEL and IMSAT, Siemens will modernise signalling infrastructure across roughly 560km of railway lines, including 66 stations, 13 centralised operation centres and 122 level crossings, as well as more than 2,000 signals. © Siemens MobilityTogether, the three contracts represent a value of around 308 million EUR, and form one of the most comprehensive signalling modernisations in Romanian history.
