The “dark, nasty” 2002 role Robin Williams wished more people had seen: “I loved that movie”Whenever an actor exits their wheelhouse and heads outside of their comfort zone, it usually only goes one of two ways, and Robin Williams was one of the best at making the most of it.
It’s started to develop a hint of a cult following in the two decades and change since, though, but Williams wasn’t best pleased that nobody was as interested at the time.
“It’s a really dark, nasty movie, not for kids,” is how he put it, which is about right.
But I loved that movie, just because it’s nasty fun, but I think that’s what hit people.
I remember people going, ‘Why do you have to do a really dark comedy?
