20-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Charles Edwards was charged with speeding, fleeing the police, and criminal mischief following a 2025 pursuit where state police attempted to stop him on Fort Campbell Boulevard. In circuit court on Wednesday, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office made a plea offer to Edwards that reduced his charges to a single count of misdemeanor wanton endangerment. click to download audioJudge Atkins also had a message to prosecutors about future deals involving fleeing from the police. A second Fort Campbell soldier accepted a similar offer in a separate case in the same court session and received a similar sentence. There were 13 people on the Wednesday morning and afternoon circuit court dockets facing charges of fleeing and evading police.
