ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The monsoon/heat high is starting its slow westward hike across the region, now over far east-central New Mexico and the Texas panhandle. This will continue to impact New Mexico with hot conditions and monsoonal storms Thursday. Storm motion will follow a clockwise pattern due to the monsoon/heat high. High-res model guidance this morning looks to keep the Metro mostly quiet overhead, with storms moving close to the metro but fizzling out before moving into the metro. A low-end threat of flash flooding is possible in spots today, mainly for storms that stay over one area and produce heavy rainfall and for those that have already seen heavy rainfall in recent days.
