Agartala, July 30: The investigation into the sudden death of Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankhar has entered a crucial phase, with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the state government reaching New Delhi to carry forward the probe.
The SIT’s visit to the national capital marks a significant expansion of the investigation beyond Tripura as officials seek to gather evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the state’s top police officer.
The investigation team is headed by Superintendent of Police (West) Namit Pathak and comprises senior officers from different wings of the Tripura Police.
Among those already in New Delhi are Inspector Rana Chatterjee, Women Inspector Shiuli Das and Sub-Inspector Subendu Das, who have been assigned specific responsibilities as part of the investigation.
The SIT was constituted following a government order issued on July 25, directing a “thorough, coordinated and expeditious investigation” into West Agartala Police Station Unnatural Death Case No.
