MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) – Wildwood Zoo is saddened to share the passing of Grant, the zoo’s 16-year-old white-tailed deer buck, who peacefully passed away earlier this week from age-related causes. Born at Wildwood Zoo in the spring of 2010, Grant was one of the last white-tailed deer born at our facility. White-tailed deer are Wisconsin’s most abundant large mammal and have long been an important part of Wood County’s landscape. “Grant’s long life reflects the excellent care provided by Wildwood Zoo’s animal care team. “We are grateful for the many years Grant spent at Wildwood Zoo and for the memories he created for our staff and guests.
