Marshfield to receive nearly $90,000 in state snowstorm reimbursement

MARSHFIELD, WI (OnFocus) -Marshfield will receive nearly $90,000 in state aid to help offset costs from a major March snowstorm, City Administrator Steve Barg told the Common Council on Tuesday. The city expects reimbursement of approximately $89,500 through Wisconsin’s disaster assistance program. Barg said Marshfield originally submitted roughly $300,000 in storm-related expenses but later learned only about $128,000 qualified under state reimbursement guidelines. Barg credited employees in the Public Works Department, including Street Superintendent Tim Rasmussen and County Manager Jordan Munger, for compiling the documentation needed to maximize the city’s reimbursement request. The funding will help offset snow removal costs incurred during one of the city’s largest snow events of the year.
