It was around this time that Tim League started a little movie theater downtown called the Alamo Drafthouse. Master Pancake is similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000. But it’s not quite a straight line from Mystery Science Theater to Master Pancake. They needed something to bring in fans of the defunct Mystery Science Theater 3000 TV show. The legend of Mister Sinus Theater 3000 grew — just like the legend of the man who got launched into space on Mystery Science Theater.
