Scottish saxophonist and composer Matt Carmichael will release his new album ‘Held In The Dark’ later this year. The musician is a key part of Glasgow’s buoyant jazz scene, with Matt Carmichael helping to push the envelope at every turn. Out on October 16th, ‘Held In The Dark’ merges his jazz impulses with more classic-leaning song craft, with Canadian musician Michelle Willis joining as co-producer. Every bit as atmospheric as its title, it brings together Matt Carmichael’s jazz-adjacent elasticity into something akin to formal songwriting.
