Article contentOur city is expanding, and that is good, but our beautiful houses in the Victorian and other architectural styles are a treasure. Think of Lunenburg, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, partly because of its well-preserved old houses. The UNESCO website states that Lunenburg is “an excellent example of a sustained vernacular architectural tradition.” Let’s keep that tradition alive here in Halifax. We can use this as an attraction for tourists: “Come see our well-preserved Victorian streetscapes.”
