Brookfield is calling the project Tree Hill and plans to follow the proffers and approved specs from the 2007 rezoning case, meaning that the developer does not need additional county approvals to move forward. The entirety of Tree Hill would take about a decade to complete, and build-out would be split into four phases. Tree Hill has an extensive team that counts local firms such as architects SMBW and Glavé & Holmes and engineering firm Timmons Group. The Tree Hill site is rich with history. Tree Hill was the birthplace and childhood home of Chief Powhatan, whose people populated the land over 13,000 years ago.
