There have been numerous days of earth shaking thunderstorms, torrential rain, and now a Rockland home has been struck by lightning. It was around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday when homeowners in Wesley Hills saw a bright flash, heard a loud noise, and soon after, saw smoke. Monsey Fire Department Captain Gary Rothschild confirmed that upon arrival, there were flames coming out of the front of the house. Thanks to the quick response of the Monsey and Hillcrest Fire Departments, the fire was swiftly put out and the damage was contained to the wall pictured above and minor smoke damage. According to Captain Rothschild, the family will hopefully be home soon.
