On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Ramapo Police Department responded to the areas of Monsey and Airmont following multiple reports of pedestrians being struck with eggs thrown from a passing motor vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of these incidents. Over the following several days, the Ramapo Police Department Investigations Division conducted a thorough follow-up investigation. Through the use of witness accounts, license plate reader (LPR) technology and security camera footage, investigators were able to identify a suspect vehicle originating from New Jersey and determine the identities of its occupants. On Thursday, July 23, 2026, three occupants of the vehicle were arrested:An 18-year-old male resident of New JerseyA 17-year-old male resident of New JerseyA 15-year-old male resident of New JerseyIn connection with three separate incidents, each of the defendants was charged with (3) counts of:Harassment in the 2nd Degree (violation) — NYS Penal LawThe Ramapo Police Department thanks the community for their cooperation and reminds residents that reporting suspicious activity plays a vital role in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
