More than 1,000 people flocked to Peacock Railway near Nantwich as its annual Transport Day returned. The volunteer-run attraction was buzzing throughout the day as miniature steam trains, vintage vehicles, traction engines and family-friendly attractions combined. The venue us run by the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society and offered free admission and free parking. Visitors enjoyed rides on the railway’s 5-inch gauge steam and battery-electric trains, travelling almost a quarter of a mile around the scenic track. The clubhouse was open, allowing visitors to view displays of model engineering, steam engines and locomotives while learning more about the craftsmanship and engineering behind the organisation’s work.
