New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed that the town's population now stands at 107,658, a 0.80 per cent increase from this time last year.
This is a much smaller growth than in August 2025, when the same statistics showed a 1.81 per cent rise - the 46th biggest out of 318 local authorities.
While Watford's population continues to rise, the ONS said that population growth in England and Wales has slowed to its lowest rate since the pandemic.
Hertsmere's population rose by 0.23 per cent, while in Dacorum a 0.73 per cent rise was reported.
Nationally, the biggest population growth was the 2.39 per cent rise in Rugby, while the 3.52 per cent drop in the Isles of Scilly was the biggest recorded decrease.
