Algeria is discussing a partnership agreement with Cameroon covering training, innovation and digitalization in the handicraft sector. The proposed cooperation was discussed during the ninth International Handicrafts Fair of Cameroon, which opened in Yaoundé on July 27. Kerdid Abdelhak, Director General of Algeria’s National Handicrafts Agency, said the planned memorandum of understanding would facilitate exchanges between the two countries. “We are discussing a memorandum of understanding to facilitate exchanges between Algeria and Cameroon in training, innovation and digitalization, while also organizing workshops during the fair,” Abdelhak said. Algeria is participating in the event for the first time with a delegation of 13 artisans showcasing ceramics, leatherwork, jewelry and sand art.
