Armenian government to resign Sunday ahead of formation of new parliament

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the government will resign on Sunday in accordance with the Constitution following the formation of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly.
Speaking at what he described as the cabinet’s final regular meeting in its current composition, Pashinyan thanked government members for their work and reflected on the outgoing administration’s tenure.
After that, the President of the Republic will appoint as Prime Minister the candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority,” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister also announced that several members of his team will continue their public service in the National Assembly after being elected as lawmakers.
Pashinyan thanked them for their service in the executive branch and wished them success in their new roles.
