A Boston-born burrito chain is closing its last remaining restaurant, ending nearly three decades of operation in the city.
Last year, the business closed its second-to-last restaurant near Boston Children's Hospital, leaving the Congress Street shop as its only remaining location.
According to Boston.com, four friends, Gregg Harris, Jason Hutchinson, Adam Leibman, and John Pepper, founded Boloco in 1997.
After departing from the company in 2013, co-founder John Pepper bought back the chain in 2015 and led its efforts toward profitability.
In a blog post, Pepper acknowledged post-COVID lease challenges that made it difficult to keep its locations open.
