A congressman from Kentucky who lost in the 2026 Primary Election says he will sponsor a bill that would withhold federal money from “municipalities and police departments that deploy Flock Safety cameras to surveil law abiding citizens.” Nine flock cameras were installed in Leitchfield in February 2025. Leitchfield Mayor Harold Miller said the installation of the cameras was a community safety decision. The Leitchfield Police Department, upon the cameras being installed, noted that the system “is not a live traffic surveillance system.” Our Flock system is governed by many limitations of the camera system, state law, and local police policies,” LPD said.
