Iowa State softball alum Sami Williams played for the Cyclones from 2017-21. During those years, Williams set program records and continues to do the same in the Athletes Unlimited Softball league (AUSL). Throughout the entirety of NCAA softball, Williams is just the fifth player to record 79 doubles. Williams is a senior software engineer for the Chicago Cubs and was selected as the Cubs nominee for the 2025 Katy Feeney Leadership Award. The Katy Feeney Leadership Awards acknowledge and celebrate women staff members from all 30 MLB teams in honor of Katy Feeney, a 40-year female MLB executive.
