The Telangana Prantha Upadhyaya Sangam (TPUS), which has called for the protest, also demanded that the government release six pending DAs and clear pending bills. TPUS president Vodnala Rajasekhar and general secretary T Pentayya said that as numerous representations made to the government and the officials concerned had yielded no results, teachers were left with no choice but to launch the maha dharna. The TPUS pointed out that the delay in releasing six DAs was causing significant financial losses to employees and teachers.
