Canucks Sports and Entertainment says it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the City of Vancouver to “explore” a new hockey development facility in the Britannia neighbourhood.
The plan would include increased investment in local youth programming in the area and an ongoing involvement from members of the Vancouver Canucks, the news release says.
Former player Daniel Sedin, co-president of hockey operations for the team, says a dedicated practice facility is an important step for the organization.
“This is another important piece in building the foundation, culture, and standards that will help position the Vancouver Canucks for long-term success.”
Heading into the 2026-27 season, the Canucks are the only team in the NHL without a dedicated, permanent practice facility.
