DOJ officials told reporters they have been in communication with Cornyn’s staff for the past week and were under the impression the agreement met his concerns. “We’re trying to work just to get the language,” Tillis told reporters. “Maybe John Cornyn’s upset with me because I didn’t endorse him,” he told reporters Wednesday afternoon.
