The Saline County Commission has set the date for the ribbon cutting at the welcome center. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at the center located along 116th Trail at the Marshall Junction. The commission repeated these updates to members of the Develop Saline County economic development board at their meeting that immediately followed session. Belwood donated the land for the welcome center and will establish a restored prairie behind the building along a walking trail. Also at Wednesday’s session, the commission approved the hire of a new legal assistant in the prosecuting attorney’s office.
