Maxion Wheels has published its first global Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), establishing a common basis for evaluating the environmental impact of its aluminium and steel wheels and structural components. The cradle-to-gate study covers products manufactured at 24 Maxion plants in 12 countries across five continents. It assesses the environmental impacts associated with raw-material extraction and production, manufacturing, finishing and packaging, but does not extend to the products’ use or end-of-life stages.
