A wave of back-to-school events is set to sweep across the Las Vegas Valley in the coming weeks, as civic groups, retailers, and government agencies join forces to ease costs for families ahead of the new school year. The Nevada State Treasurer's Office and the Clark County School District will host a back-to-school fair at Rancho High School, 1900 Searles Ave. in North Las Vegas, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 31. Galleria at Sunset will host its Annual Back-to-School Resources Fair and Fashion Show on August 1, offering backpacks to the first 100 registrants, along with a fashion show and resource booths. The City of Las Vegas will hold its Ward 3 Back-to-School Fair on August 1 at the East Las Vegas Community Center, where the first 1,000 attendees will receive free school supplies. The event distributed more than 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies and was designed to help working families offset school costs without cutting into other essentials, such as groceries or rent, while connecting them to civic and community resources.
