The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has selected five states as potential hosts for Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses. The Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses are a new effort to strengthen and modernize the country’s full nuclear fuel cycle. The Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses will be designed to support activities across the full nuclear fuel lifecycle. This includes nuclear fuel fabrication, enrichment, reprocessing used nuclear fuel, and final disposition of used nuclear fuel. The Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses could play a critical role in ensuring the goal is met at a fast pace.
