Column: Central Oregon kindness shines in times of trouble
[]
The Bulletin
When my wife and I moved to Central Oregon, people told us we would fall in love with the mountains.
It was one of the first signs that we had arrived in a place where everyday kindness still matters.
But something else spread even faster: the courage of firefighters and the kindness of neighbors.
But no law can compel kindness, and no one we elect can prevent us from practicing kindness.
Years from now, I’m sure Central Oregon will still be known for its breathtaking landscapes.
