Goins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, physician, and adventurer, passed away peacefully at his home in Bend, Oregon, on November 24, 2025, following a courageous battle with respiratory illness. Steve was born on May 20, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Bill and Norma Goins. He later joined Oregon Neurology Associates in Eugene, where he specialized in pediatric neurology and neuromuscular disease. There, he became the Stroke Medical Director at St. Charles Medical Center and served as the hospital’s first neuro-hospitalist. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Steven Goins’ honor to EOLCOR, St. Charles Hospice, or Stroke Awareness Oregon.
