Flights from Wick to Glasgow part of Highland Council’s air service funding

THE Highland Council has renewed their partnership with Air Charter Scotland, which will include services from Wick to Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Transport Scotland has confirmed funding of almost £1.8m in support of Public Service Obligation (PSO) services from Wick for the 2026/27 session.
With the renewal of Air Charter Scotland’s contract on August 14 2026, the PSO service will include four flights to Aberdeen and three flights to Glasgow per week, leaving from John O’Groats Airport.
The Highland Council has contributed over £600,000 towards the service, providing a grand funding package of £2.4m.
He said: “I am delighted that Transport Scotland has confirmed funding for the WICK PSO air service for the year ahead.
