AN HISTORIC Scottish castle will reopen its interior to visitors on 1 August, 2026, following a four-year closure for conservation work.
Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has completed essential repairs to the 15th-century artillery wall and vaulted ceiling at Threave Castle.
Malcolm Price, Monument Manager at Threave Castle, highlighted the historical importance of the site’s fortifications.
He said: “Threave Castle is an incredibly special place with a fascinating history, and we are excited to welcome visitors not just to the island but now inside the castle walls too.
Threave Castle is accessible by passenger boat and operates daily from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
